About Umaid Bhawan Palace
Built between 1928 and 1943, Umaid Bhawan Palace was commissioned by Maharaja Umaid Singh to provide employment during a famine. Today, it is divided into three parts: a luxury hotel managed by Taj Hotels, a museum showcasing royal artifacts, and the residence of the Jodhpur royal family. The palace sits atop Chittar Hill and offers panoramic views of Jodhpur. Its opulent interiors, expansive gardens, and unique architecture make it an iconic landmark of the city.
