Jag Mandir - The Lake Garden Palace

    About Jag Mandir

Jag Mandir, often called the Lake Garden Palace, is a breathtaking 17th-century marvel situated on an island in Lake Pichola. Built by the Sisodia rulers of Mewar, it is renowned for its stunning Rajput–Mughal architecture, grand courtyards, intricately carved marble structures, and serene water views. The palace served as a refuge for Prince Khurram (later Emperor Shah Jahan) during a rebellion against his father, influencing the design of the Taj Mahal. Visitors arrive via boat rides, soaking in views of Udaipur’s shimmering waters and the City Palace in the backdrop. In the evenings, Jag Mandir transforms into a dreamlike venue with golden lights reflecting off the lake.
